This image is a 3D render of an APS jet on the side of the Apollo 11 rocket. A coworker, Michael Van Arsdale, created the geometry in Electric Image. Using renders of the geometry, I created a series of maps to add detail and distortions to the surface. Michael then used those maps to render out the final versions. This is part of the Apollo 11 project, a project that I participated in at DVGarage. DVGarage is a company that specializes in training for visual media artists. This particular project was being put together for John Knoll.
